Security at Biings

Biings stores private information about your employees and their absences. Few things are as important to protect. Here’s an overview of how we ensure that your Biings account and your data stay secure.

We keep your data safe and private.

All data is backed up daily, and stored in multiple locations, all in Switzerland. All our backups are kept for a maximum of 30 days. Server snapshots are performed regularly for rapid disaster recovery. The privacy of your data is a big deal to us! We only access your account when you asks us to. Please review our privacy policy for specific details.

In Switzerland and nowhere else.

Our server – and your data – is located in a Tier III+ data center in Geneva, Switzerland. The server is protected by several airlocks, biometric identification (analysing the vein network of your finger), facial recognition and round-the-clock interior and exterior surveillance monitoring.

SSL-encrypted, by default.

Whenever your data is in transit between you and us, everything is encrypted, and sent using HTTPS. You never send or receive sensitive information in plain-text. Absences, follow-up actions and HR data aren’t encrypted at rest — they are active in our database and subject to the same protection and monitoring as the rest of our systems. Our backups of your data are encrypted using OpenSSL.

Regularly-updated infrastructure.

Our software infrastructure is updated regularly with the latest security patches. Biings run on a dedicated server which is locked down with firewalls and carefully monitored.

Up and running since 2013.

We’ve been around since 2013 and we’ve worked with companies applying high-level security practices. Security isn’t just about technology, it’s about trust. We’ve worked hard to earn the trust of our clients over the years. Safeguarding the HR data stored in Biings is a critical responsibility we have to our customers, and we continue to work hard to maintain that trust.
